Cambrian Heritage Railways will open its doors to model railway enthusiasts for the very first time on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July.
The North Shropshire railway will host a two-day model railway exhibition in association with Ellesmere Model Railway Society at its Oswestry and Weston Wharf stations. Seven model layouts have already been booked to appear at this unique event.
The award-winning railway has been running steam and diesel trains along the two-mile former Cambrian/GWR line between Oswestry and Weston Wharf since it officially opened last April after being abandoned for 50 years.
Andy Green, Cambrian Heritage Railways General Manager, said: “This is our first exhibition of its kind to be hosted on our railway and we are confident model railway enthusiasts will come and enjoy some top quality layouts, modelmaking demonstrations and visit the very best local model traders.
“Of course we will also be running the real thing with steam and diesel services operating between Oswestry and Weston Wharf together with entrance to our fascinating Museum with a wealth of Cambrian Railway memorabilia .“
The show will be open on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July – from 10.00am to 17.00. Admission is: adult £10 Child £7 and Family £25 . Information and pre-booked tickets can be purchased in advance from: www.cambrianrailways.com.
